Diggers Rest is one of the worst areas for getting the recycling bin wrong in the Melton Shire but we want to do the right thing.
If we want the council to continue recycling then our recycling bins say, "No Thanks" to:
- waxed or plastic coated boxes (check if the boxes are sticky or shiny)
- ceramic plates, cups or crockery
- drinking glasses, broken glass
- light globes (take these to the free Detox Your Home Centre at 33-41 Ferris Rd, Melton South)
- pyrex, window glass
- polystyrene (cups, meat trays, boxes, etc)
- nappies
- food scraps
- garden waste
- syringes
- crockery (cups, plates etc)
- coat hangers
- car parts
- batteries (take these to the free Detox Your Home Centre at 33-41 Ferris Rd, Melton South)
- motor oil containers
- plastic
- newspapers, magazines, telephone books
- school and office paper
- cardboard, cereal and food boxes
- envelopes (with windows are ok), junk mail and flyers.
- glass bottles
- jars

- all aluminium cans
- scrunched-up aluminium foil

- empty aerosol cans
